Leadership is a process by which a person influences others to accomplish an objective and directs the organization in a way that makes it more organized and logical meaning Leadership is a process whereby an individual influences a group of individuals to achieve a common goal. Leaders carry out this process by applying their leadership knowledge and skills. However, we know that we have personality that can influence our actions. Don’t waste time! Our writers will create an original "Gaining An Understanding Of Meaningful Leadership Business Essay" essay for you Create order If a leader has the desire and willpower, one can become an effective leader. Good leaders develop through a never ending process of self-study, education, training, and experience. A dedicated leader inspires his workers into higher levels of teamwork, there are certain things that an effective and dedicated leader must be, know, and, do. These do not come naturally, but are acquired through continual work and study. Effective and dedicated leaders are continually working and studying to improve their leadership skills meaning they are not resting on their success. While leadership is learned, the skills and knowledge processed by the leader can be influenced by his or hers attributes or traits, such as beliefs, values, ethics and character. Knowledge and skills contribute directly to the process of leadership, while the other attributes give the leader certain characteristics that make him or her unique meaning skills, knowledge, and attributes make the Leader more effective and dedicated. Factors of Leadership Leader You must have an honest understanding of who you are, what you know, and what you can do. Also, note that it is the followers, not the leader or someone else who determines if the leader is successful. If they do not trust or lack confidence in their leader, then they will be uninspired. To be successful you have to convince your followers, not yourself or your superiors, that you are worthy of being followed. Followers Different people require different styles of leadership. For example, a new hire requires more supervision than an experienced employee. A person who lacks motivation requires a different approach than one with a high degree of motivation. You must know your people! The fundamental starting point is having a good understanding of human nature, such as needs, emotions, and motivation. You must come to know your employees be, know, and do attributes. Communication You lead through two-way communication. Much of it is nonverbal. For instance, when you s et the example, that communicates to your people that you would not ask them to perform anything that you would not be willing to do. What and how you communicate either builds or harms the relationship between you and your employees. Situation All situations are different. What you do in one situation will not always work in another. You must use your judgment to decide the best course of action and the leadership style needed for each situation. For example, you may need to confront an employee for inappropriate behavior, but if the confrontation is too late or too early, too harsh or too weak, then the results may prove ineffective. Also note that the situation normally has a greater effect on a leaders action than his or her traits. This is because while traits may have an impressive stability over a period of time, they have little consistency across situations. Leadership Models Structural Framework In an effective leadership situation, the leader is a social architect whose leadership style is analysis and design. While in an ineffective leadership situation, the leader is a petty tyrant whose leadership style is details. Structural Leaders focus on structure, strategy, environment, implementation, experimentation, and adaptation. Human Resource Framework In an effective leadership situation, the leader is a catalyst and servant whose leadership style is support, advocating, and empowerment. while in an ineffective leadership situation, the leader is a pushover, whose leadership style is abdication and fraud. Human Resource Leaders believe in people and communicate that belief; they are visible and accessible; they empower, increase participation, support, share information, and move decision making down into the organization. Political Framework In an effective leadership situation, the leader is an advocate, whose leadership style is coalition and building. While in an ineffective leadership situation, the leader is a hustler, whose leadership style is manipulation. Political leaders clarify what they want and what they can get; they assess the distribution of power and interests; they build linkages to other stakeholders, use persuasion first, then use negotiation and coercion only if necessary. Symbolic Framework In an effective leadership situation, the leader is a prophet, whose leadership style is inspiration. While in an ineffective leadership situation, the leader is a fanatic or fool, whose leadership style is smoke and mirrors. Symbolic leaders view organizations as a stage or theater to play certain roles and give impressions; these leaders use symbols to capture attention; they try to frame experience by providing plausible interpretations of experiences; they discover and communicate a vision. The Two Most Important Keys to Effective Leadership Trust and confidence in top leadership was the single most reliable predictor of employee satisfaction in an organization. Effective communication by leadership in three critical areas was the key to winning organizational trust and confidence: Helping employees understand the companys overall business strategy. Helping employees understand how they contribute to achieving key business objectives. Sharing information with employees on both how the company is doing and how an employees own division is doing à ¢ÃƒÆ' ¢Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã… ¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚ ¬ relative to strategic business objectives. Principles of Leadership Know yourself and seek self-improvement In order to know yourself, you have to understand your be, know, and do, attributes. Be technically proficient As a leader, you must know your job and have a solid familiarity with your employees tasks. Seek responsibility and take responsibility for your actions Search for ways to guide your organization to new heights. And when things go wrong, they always do sooner or later à ¢ÃƒÆ' ¢Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã… ¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚ ¬ do not blame others. Analyze the situation, take corrective action, and move on to the next challenge. Make sound and timely decisions Use good problem solving, decision making, and planning tools. Set the example Be a good role model for your employees. They must not only hear what they are expected to do, but also see. Know your people and look out for their well-being Know human nature and the importance of sincerely caring for your workers. Keep your workers informed Know how to communicate with not only them, but also seniors and other key people. Develop a sense of responsibility in your workers Help to develop good character traits that will help them carry out their professional responsibilities. The Truth Of Life As Expressed By Great Authors - 1894 Words

to grips with the truth of life as expressed by great authors†, Fellowes turned to the experiences of others as told through literature in his search for truth (1). In the end, Fellowes’ journey benefited him greatly. His education in English served him well in the business world when after years of teaching he took a management job at his brother’s business, â€Å"I needed words, carefully chosen and arranged, in order to help others understand what I had observed and the conclusions I was drawing.† Fellowes believes in the power of a general education stating, â€Å"Study of liberal arts can lead to moral understandings that are invaluable to success in whatever one attempts in life.† A degree in the humanities provides more than technical skills†¦show more content†¦Their minds are not as open to trying on new perspectives and studying the liberal arts seems like a waste of time, something Americans frown upon. According to an article titled â€Å"Colleges are Obsolete† featured in a 1965 issue of the Saturday Evening Post, the purpose of a college education was evolving during this time. The president of the College Entrance Examination Board told the Post, â€Å"The arguments for going to college that are now in use are basically economic. They are only occasionally intellectual or even cultural† (10). Robert M. Hutchins, author of the piece, believed liberal education was in need of a â€Å"new home† even in the mid 1960’s, because American universities were no longer dedicated to developing an understanding of the self and society. He blamed the fact that students go to college with a specialty already in mind and in search of financial success as opposed to self discovery. The same could be said of students today. A young person concerned about the logistics of his future seeks reassurance by pursuing a degree in a field that should certainly lead to a high paying job. He will find comfort in working towards what awaits him after graduation. Schools then cater to this mindset by adjusting liberal arts requirements. Students are fearful of the idea of an uncertain future and although no college degree can make one’s future certain, they often want a degree in a field that has a specific destination. Autonomous Caregiver Following Robotic Wheelchair Free Essays

AUTONOMOUS CAREGIVER FOLLOWING ROBOTIC WHEELCHAIR Abstract— In the last decennary, a assortment of robotic/intelligent wheelchairs have been proposed to run into the demand in aging society. Their chief research subjects are independent maps such as traveling toward some ends while avoiding obstructions, or user-friendly interfaces. Although it is desirable for wheelchair users to travel out entirely, health professionals frequently accompany them. We will write a custom essay sample on Autonomous Caregiver Following Robotic Wheelchair or any similar topic only for you Order Now Therefore we have to see non merely independent maps and user interfaces but besides how to cut down caregivers’ burden and back up their activities in a communicating facet. From this point of position, we have proposed a robotic wheelchair traveling with a caregiver side by side based on the MATLAB procedure. In this undertaking we discoursing about robotic wheel chair to follow a health professional by utilizing a microcontroller, Ultrasonic detector, computer keyboard, Motor drivers to run automaton. Using camera interfaced with the DM6437 ( Davinci Code Processor ) image is captured. The captured image are so processed by utilizing image processing technique, the processed image are so converted into electromotive force degrees through MAX 232 degree convertor and given it to the microcontroller unit serially and supersonic detector to observe the obstruction in forepart of automaton. In this automaton we have mode choice switch Automatic and Manual control of automaton, we use supersonic detector in automatic manner to happen obstruction, in Manual manner to utilize the computer keyboard to run wheel chair. In the microcontroller unit, hundred linguistic communication cryptography is predefined, harmonizing to this coding the automaton which connected to it was controlled. Robot which has several motors is activated by utilizing the motor drivers. Motor drivers are nil but a switch which ON/OFF the motor harmonizing to the control given by the microcontroller unit. Keywords:Code Composer studio,Robotic Wheelchair. Introduction Harmonizing to the World Health Organization ( WHO ) , between the 7 and 10 % of the population worldwide suffer from some physical disablement. This nose count indicates that the most common disablement is motor, followed by sightlessness, hearing loss, rational, and linguistic communication. Many people who suffer from chronic mobility damages, such as spinal cord hurts or multiple induration, utilize a powered wheelchair to travel around their environment. However, factors such as weariness, devolution of their status, and centripetal damages, frequently limit their ability to utilize standard electric wheelchairs. This undertaking aims at developing—in coaction with applied scientists and rehabilitation clinicians—a paradigm of a multi-functional intelligent wheelchair to help persons with mobility damages in their day-to-day motive power, while minimising physical and cognitive tonss. In Existing system the control is utilizing computer keyboard or person has to assist in traveling the wheel chair and here we introduce a new technique in this we can track the caregiver’s organic structure orientation by sing its form so that the wheelchair can do a bend when the health professional is traveling to alter his/her traveling way. Based on these observations of the health professional, our wheelchair can travel with the health professional side by side. img alt="" src="https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/aaimagestore/essays/1209138.001.png". Fig1. System Overview The coveted codification can be fed into DM6437 via CCS and consequence can be viewed in matlab. In the following subdivision, the execution of tracking algorithms will be presented. Section III proposes the algorithm with Davinci codification processor and robotic system. Decision is given in subdivision IV. Peoples DETECTION AND TRACKING Initially connect web camera to the processor. From the picture 2 back-to-back snapshot will be taken with 2sec hold. Both the images will be converted from RGB to grey. The obtained images will hold noise. In order to take the noise Weiner filter is used. Then the filtered grey image will be converted in to grey Binary Image in which ROI is separated. From the binary image Region belongingss will be extracted. In this undertaking major axis length and orientation are extracted. These belongingss will be compared for both the images. Based on the conditions, the bids will be sent to the robotic wheelchair through consecutive port. The stairss followed in algorithm is, First we take two images automatically one by one with some hold. Convert both colour images to grey images by utilizing rgb2gray bid. Use wiener2 filter for taking gesture fuzz in both images because object is in traveling place so camera generate blurred image. Convert that wiener filtered images to binary images. Apply regionprops technique to binary images for ciphering majoraxislength, orientation ( angle ) . Here we are utilizing both instances such as majoraxislength for ciphering length of image and orientation for angle of image. After acquiring place of object that will be automatically sended to embedded kit ( wheel chair ) through consecutive port utilizing consecutive bid. img alt="" src="https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/aaimagestore/essays/1209138.002.png"/ Fig2. Detecting Region of Interest ALGORITHM WITH DM6437 AND ROBOTIC SYSTEM Therefore the generated matlab plan has been fed into the davinci codification processor. This is done by change overing matlab codification in to c codification. Robotic Circuit The EVM board can be mounted above the robotic system. A gripper can be built, to attach the picture camera to the system, and avoid camera quivers, that can be caused by the automaton ‘s motion. Maestro system. The maestro system includes the robotic faculty. Thus the TI DSP processor can be interfaced to robotic faculty by agencies of UART. The robotic system can be configured with 89C51, DC brushless motors ( 45 revolutions per minute ) , detectors for the obstructions sensing and UART for the external. This microcontroller enforce greater versatility with the option for Embedded Web waiter application, so that system can be monitored from the distant location. Therefore configuring the system utilizing UART would intend that the DSP would move as slave and it would the feed the boot information to the maestro device ( 89C51 ) , when they need information. Thus the maestro would have the picture information, sing which object demand to be tracked from the slave ( DSP ) and there by the coveted one would be tracked. Thus the presented algorithm would roll up the belongingss of the coveted object, which would voyage the slave for tracking. Based on the place of the Object ( Caregiver ) , the bids will be sent to microcontroller through the consecutive port. Depending on the standard bids, the action will be taken topographic point. The bids and it’s control action for automaton, is given in tabular array. Internet History Report Essay Example For Students

Internet History Report Essay The Internet was created in 1969 by scientists working for ARPA. ARPA stands for advanced research projects agency, and was formed to create a network of computers that could save information in the event of a nuclear attack. UCLA, Stanford Research Institute (SRI), UC Santa Barbara (UCSB), and the University of Utah in Salt Lake City were the first ARPANET locations. The ARPANET is what is now called the Internet. The plan was unprecedented: A professor at UCLA, and his small group of graduate students hoped to log onto the Stanford computer and try to send it some data. They would start by typing login, and asking by telephone if the letters appeared on the far-off monitor. On their first attempt, the L and O were transmitted successfully, but after they typed the letter G the system crashed. We will write a custom essay on Internet History Report specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now From 1969 to 1983 a lot of different packet switching schemes were tried andTCP/IP is what grew OUT of ARPANET, not what started ARPANET. During most of theseventies, the protocol was generally referred to as just the Network Control Protocol or NCP. The term Internet was probably first applied to a 1973 research program that culminated in a demonstration system in 1977. It demonstrated networking through various mediums, including satellite, radio, telephone, ethernet, etc. using packet switching. And this formed the roots of the Transmission Control Protocol and Internet Protocol (TCP/IP). But it was not until 1983 that all nodes on ARPANET were required to use TCP/IP to connect to it. Also in 1983, the Department of Defense moved the unclassified portions of the Data Defense Network to create MILLET. Then in January 1983, the ARPA Internet first appears and operation was passed to the Defense Communications Agency. The first operating, non-experimental, real live Internet with a capital network, was a military network with a couple of hundred computers connected to it. Universities and the general public were not welcome on the ARPANET. It was a network for Department of Defense contractors and military sites. Then a group of military contractors with strong ties to business and universities not on the MILLET were constantly in a situation where many of their peers were not on the Net while they were on. They began campaigning for access for other researchers. In 1984 the National Science Foundation established an office for networking. a number ofuniversities and research groups actually did get access to ARPANET. In 1993, Tim Lee created an interface to the World Wide Web he called Mosaic. The NSF actually funded further development of a Macintosh and Microsoft Windows version of Mosaic through a grant to the University. The first Microsoft Windows version appeared about November of 1993. The Mosaic Web Browser put a pretty face on the Internet. You could navigate the World Wide Web by clicking on links with the mouse. More importantly, it allowed users to add players for sound, video clips, or anything else they wanted to add. Today, advanced Mosaic browsers such as Netscape have added other functions quite beyond World Wide Web, including electronic mail. Electronic mail, or E-mail as it is commonly called, was invented by Ray Tomlinson in 1971 as a way of sending messages of the Internet to other users on-line. His program for sending E-mail was called SNDMSG, which stands for send message. Now E-mail has grown so much that next year people will send an estimated 6 trillion messages. A new use for the Internet that is influencing the lives of many Internet users is the creation of E-wrestling leagues. E-wrestling is a type of game in which you create wrestling matches over E-mail. You can challenge other members of your E-fed (a group of members in your league) by posting messages on the message board. The other member will then respond to your challenge by writing back on the message board. If the commissioner approves of the match then he will send an E-mail to the two members telling when the match will take place. There are two ways a commissioner can create matches, depending on the rules of your federation. One way is to write out the entire match. This takes a long time and the results are based on the opinion of the commissioner. The other way involves using a computer to decide the winner. My federation uses Zeus, a computer program found on the Internet, to simulate the matches. The good thing about this type of match is it can be made quickly, the matc hes are fair and based on wrestlers attributes, and many gimmick matches can be downloaded off of the Net. However the match is made, the next step is for the commissioner to post the match results on the federation Web page. To run a good E-fed, the commissioner needs to have a good knowledge of the Internet and knowledge of pro-wrestling. .uc59b7281e02883d97f168c88d4baa8ba , .uc59b7281e02883d97f168c88d4baa8ba .postImageUrl , .uc59b7281e02883d97f168c88d4baa8ba .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .uc59b7281e02883d97f168c88d4baa8ba , .uc59b7281e02883d97f168c88d4baa8ba:hover , .uc59b7281e02883d97f168c88d4baa8ba:visited , .uc59b7281e02883d97f168c88d4baa8ba:active { border:0!important; } .uc59b7281e02883d97f168c88d4baa8ba .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .uc59b7281e02883d97f168c88d4baa8ba { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .uc59b7281e02883d97f168c88d4baa8ba:active , .uc59b7281e02883d97f168c88d4baa8ba:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .uc59b7281e02883d97f168c88d4baa8ba .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .uc59b7281e02883d97f168c88d4baa8ba .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .uc59b7281e02883d97f168c88d4baa8ba .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .uc59b7281e02883d97f168c88d4baa8ba .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .uc59b7281e02883d97f168c88d4baa8ba:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .uc59b7281e02883d97f168c88d4baa8ba .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .uc59b7281e02883d97f168c88d4baa8ba .uc59b7281e02883d97f168c88d4baa8ba-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .uc59b7281e02883d97f168c88d4baa8ba:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Kelli EssayE-wrestling is becoming very popular. There are over ****** different E-feds on the Internet, some with more than one hundred members. As the Internet and pro-wrestling continue to grow in popularity, E-wrestling can expect a similar increase. This is why in the future E-wrestling will have an impact on many more people. In conclusion, the Internet has grown from its humble beginnings to a massive network of networks. The Internets rich history will always be preserved through the hundreds of sites on the Web dedicated to Internet history. The Internet will continue to grow, and with this growth will come new advances in technology. After 30 years the Internet is still not finished. It will keep getting bigger and better, until one day when a nuclear bomb destroys the Earth, killing the entire population, but at least our software, hardware, information, and data will be safe.

Personality Theory Analysis free essay sample

Allen Fork Humanistic and existential personality theories have gone to change the focus Of psychological views from the cause Of behavior to the set individual. Carl Rorers person-centered theory along with Roll Mays existential psychology go on to concentrate more on present and future experiences of the individual person rather than to focus on their past experiences that have gone on to cause the persons current mental state. Psychological health in its importance should be emphasized, the way avis accomplished as well as how important it is to maintain it as well. The dark parts of realty that are experienced by people of poor psychological health can benefit by this because issues can be brought out to the light. The person-centered theory is a humanistic approach to personality. Some basic assumptions to this theory include ones natural tendency to move toward their full potential and ones maintenance of their self-concept (Feisty Feisty, 2009). Both person-centered and existential psychology theories have some factors that share personality, though they as well have differences in ideas of what truly comprises personality. The two theories both suggest that the psychological health involves relationships, like how a person functions in their interpersonal relationships, how one is treated interpersonally, as well as the presences or lack of interpersonal relationships. Rogers and Mays person-centered and existential psychology eve both very unique views on situational behavior. Normally a situation may affect a persons behavior, or a persons behavior may affect a situation. Truthfully, there are many factors to be considered when viewing behavior from a situational standpoint. The Person-centered theory makes the claim that the individual person will aim towards their own full potential. This in turn means; ideally the individual will respond to situations in ways that will be attributed to their self-concept.According to Rogers, people have two selves that make up the self-concept which are known as the organism self ND the ideal self. Though, ones own self-concept may not be entirely accurate. Organism self refers to that of the experiences that may occur outside of the persons awareness. While the ideal self is in reference to the type of person, one wishes to be. People tend to individually respond to situations with behaviors that coincide with their self-concept.If one behaves in a way that is inconsistent with their self-concept, incongruence and a lack of psychological health will occur (Feisty Feisty, 2009). According to Rogers, individuals also respond to situations on three levels of awareness: below the horseshoed of awareness, or ignored; accurately symbolized and freely entered into the self-structure; or distorted because an experience is inconsistent with ones self -concept (Feisty Feisty, 2009). An experiences that a person is not aware of, are simply ignored, or if there are too many other stimuli taking priority. The experiences that are accurately symbolized and stay consistent with a persons own self-concept are then accepted openly. The experiences that are or become incongruent with a persons self-concept will be distorted in order to assimilate with ones own self-concept. This then reduces anxiety from the experience; however, the situations accuracy then becomes compromised. Now existentialism focuses hard and strong on a persons free will. This then means that the individual has the freedom to make decisions on any situations to include inactions. Thus, any behaviors that are experienced are a direct result of any decision made by the individuals own exercised free will. That is why intentionally refers to the underlying structure, or intentions too, that allow for individuals to make the decisions they make about the future. Intentionality leads to a decision or action, depending on the situation (Feisty Feisty, 2009). This is consistent with Rogers theory because of the fact that both of the theories stray from determinism. Determinism is the philosophy that all behavior is in some form a response to that of factors in ones environment. For this reason it is believed that no individual has true actual control over their behavior. In accordance to existential psychology, anxiety tends to influence situational behavior. Anxiety is a feeling that is best described as an experience by an individual when they eve come to the realization that either their existence, or the aspect valued by their existence is at risk of being destroyed. This is idea may be consistent with the aspect of non-being, or with the knowledge that ones very own existence may cease to exist at any time.Knowledge of ones self being part of the world, or their existence as a part of nature and time which gives need to the realization that if one can be, or exist, they as well cannot be, or not exist, and therefore be nonbinding. These very concepts drive behavior in almost every situation, where one tries to strive for a place in the world and o maintain well-balanced psychological health. Anxiety can occur as normal or neurotic anxieties. Normal anxiety is a fear that is in some way comparable or proportionate to threat, therefore it is warranted and can be consciously confronted. So if a person confronts a situation with normal anxiety, then the result can be constructive as well as instrumental to the individuals development. Therefore Rorers might agree with this concept due to the fact that anxieties can aide in a persons individual growth and potential. Neurotic anxiety on the other hand is a fear that is disproportional to a situation. The results for a person confronting situations with neurotic anxiety can retain experiences from ever reaching awareness, this resulting in a surrender of ones opportunity to learn and grow as a person. Neurotic anxiety ceases growth in a person to reach potential. The characteristics of a persons personality are factors that can attribute to a person depending on how their thoughts and behaviors vary. All individuals have different personality characteristics, and different personality theories propose different characteristics to personality. Characteristics of personality development that re seen in the person-centered theory are the organism and ideal self, together constituting to ones own self-concept.Rogers believed there were factors that contributed to the fully functioning person, or one who has reached self-actualization. The first characteristic is the one in which a person has to be open to new experiences and be willing to work through them, so if a person denies to do So with the experience then they cannot reach their potential. The next characteristic is existential living which is consistent with existential psychology in that they both emphasize on the importance of Ewing-in-the-world. So if one is in touch with themselves and their surroundings, then they can appreciate life as it happens, and avoiding preconceptions.Trusting in ones own feelings and instincts is very important for one to have a healthy personality. This helps the individual to reduce second-guessing their own incongruence. Now, creativity is very same to openness, but it includes one to seek out adjustment to new experiences as well as accepting new ones. The last characteristic, a fulfilled life describes ones contentment with life (McLeod, 2007). Personality characteristics that re described by existential psychology go to include any phenomena that occur with an individual. So according to existential theorists, all of the contents of the consciousness, relationships, thoughts, events, images, memories, fantasies, play a role in developing an individuals personality. Both person-centered and existential theories go to support that ones move toward self-actualization and self-acceptance, personality characteristics are important to existential psychology and are more generalized, like awareness, being present, continually creating existence through phenomena, and one Ewing self-aware.The thing about Humanistic and existential psychological theories is they also emphasize the important part that interpersonal relationships play. Like the ways in which one also relates to other individuals and how likewise in the ways which individuals relate to them. Strong interpersonal relationships often go along with good psychological health. According to Rorers, having positive interpersonal relationships become very imperative to a persons psychological health. Rogers also emphasizes the importance of unconditional positive regard.Unconditional positive Edgar is in reference of being warm and accepting toward an individual, and doing it without evaluation a nd reservation. This in turn is complete acceptance towards an individual without having possessiveness this helps someone to feel comfortable and allowing for a person to grow. As for empathy among or between individuals, it allows for them to feel understood by one another without feeling judged. The receiving of unconditional positive regard and empathy allows for the individual to grow toward self- actualization and also achieve psychological health.Counter to unconditional costive regard and empathy are conditions of worth. Conditions of worth involve ones perception of their acceptance based entirely on whether they meet the expectations of others to receive approval (Feisty Feisty, 2009). So when relationships are formed on conditions of worth, the individual can only behave in approved manners and ways in order to be accepted, and therefore cannot reach self-actualization. Unlike person-centered theory, existential psychology focuses more individuals as separate beings in the world, and th at each and every single individual must also accept their own separateness. It is also on the person to be responsible for creating meaning for them self. It is also ones own responsibility to accept themselves and finding some kind of meaning, but interpersonal relationships still go on to play an important role in existential psychology. Love and will are two concepts that, according to May, need to be reunited. Love and will refers to the delight experienced from and the value held for another person; will is the organization that directs movement toward a goal (Feisty Feistier 2009). The combination of love and will helps to allow individuals to move toward, ND express, their care for other individuals.Being true with oneself and with individuals helps people to develop deep interpersonal relationships and good psychological health. Authenticity Gives meaning to ones life by eliminating the separation of subject and object (Feisty Feisty, 2009). People that are authentic and strive for truth need start with being honest with themselves, and extend it to their interpersonal relationships. Authenticity stays consistent with Rorers concept of congruence. If one lives a life that is an authentic lifestyle, then according to Rogers, their behavior will also be incongruent with their own self-concept.In conclusion, both of these theories show that behavior is not determined, but that one operates by their own free will. Also those interpersonal relationships have a role to play in both theories as well. Personality characteristics for the person-centered theory include factors that will lead to a fully functioning person, or to that of one who has gone to achieved self-actualization. Now, personality characteristics, according to existential psychology, involve awareness and the creation of existence through that of experience.

Solar car races Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1750 words

Solar car races - Essay Example It is predicted solar energy would improve in the near future because of its competition with electricity and other energy applications. There are various ways of to use solar energy for example, the use of photovoltaic systems to convert light directly into electricity. The solar water heating system converts sunlight to heat water and the solar thermal system that concentrate solar radiation into small space to produce high temperatures (Mangu et al., 2010, p.6). The solar power has numerous advantages over other traditional energy sources because they are cost effective owing to the cheapness of the panels used in trapping sunlight. The state and the local government incentives are making it affordable and pure since it does not pollute the environment by increasing the carbon footprint (Kotler 2011, p.132). The solar energy can be trapped anywhere at any time since the panels take minimal space to install making them suitable for urban and locations. The solar energy is maintenance free than other forms of energy requiring constant maintenance like wind turbines. Solar energy is easily used in remote areas where it is expensive to increase the electricity power grid. It is conveniently used to power most of the electronic devices by inserting a small miniature panel to absorb sunlight transformed to electrical impulses to power the devices. Other sources of energy like oil reserves can be depleted but the solar energy is infinity and can l ast forever. The solar car gets its electricity by converting sunlight into electrical energy through photovoltaic cells. The photovoltaic cells are passed into the battery for storage for future use, or directly transmitted to motor to run the vehicle. The micro-controller chip embedded on the vehicle, which is also responsible for controlling the motion of the car smoothly when the pedal is pressed, performs the process. A solar car functions in various ways, such as capturing sunlight and
